I have had the pleasure to work with Annette and her fab team at CRC for over 2 years Annetteis really people focused and will go the extra mile to ensure staff and volunteers get the best experience possible at CRC. Personal development, growing confidence, and building resilience of the staff/volunteers is a key objective CRC provides the community with reasonably priced cycles to support those who want to cycle to work and improve their overall health and wellbeing

Mark Powell–Skills Donor for Cheshire Connect

Community Recycle Cycles (CRC) help to rehabilitate individuals ready for ‘back to work’, in a supported and nurturing environment. To create a legacy for the continuity of this service, I introduced the Cheshire Connect ‘Transform Programmed’ which was an ideal framework for the review, strategic development and implementation planning process to realize this ambit ion.The multiple skill donors have supported the founder, Annette, and her team, on both an operational and professional level, resulting in positive impacts for the future of the organization. The workshop and customer service area also received skill donor support and have benefited from a re-design to improve the working conditions for staff, volunteers and enhanced customer service experience.I have been supporting CRC with skill donor introductions for over 10 years and always thoroughly enjoy visiting Annette and the dedicated team, there is always a cheerful welcome and fabulous product Ive atmosphere.

“We, at Hope cafe have formed a really strong partnership over the last few years. Recycle Cycles have donated tools, bike equipment , time to repair bikes, as well as numerous donations of bikes that are surplus to their needs. These have enabled us to repair and give away dozens of bikes to asylum seekers and refugees in Crewe and South Cheshire. Their support has been invaluable and is always done with a generosity of spirit. We wouldn’t have been able to do so much without their help.” Phil Howell Minister at Hope Church Crewe

“Cycling UK has worked with Community Recycle Cycles for a number of years through our behaviour change programmes, Community Cycle Clubs and Big Bike Revival which aim to get more people cycling. The work that they do and the impact they have at a local level is fantastic. Not only do they provide an affordable way for local people to get about by bike, improving their health and wellbeing, they also provide invaluable opportunities for staff and volunteers to develop their skills and confidence in a supportive and nurturing environment. Ellen Holmes, Senior Project Officer – Greater Manchester

“Annette and the team at Community Recycle Cycles have been very supportive of all of our students working with them on a work placement over the last 10 years.

The team are very understanding and work together to adapt the placement right from the start,  focusing very much on the tasks that support the students career aspirations as well as the needs and abilities of the students.

Safe Opportunities would like to thank Annette and their team for their continued support in helping our students to gain essential employability skills and to build confidence to progress on to paid work and apprenticeships.” Helen Pullan, Company Director, Safe Opportunities

“I feel privileged to have such a dedicated, hardworking and innovative team working at Community Recycle Cycles in Crewe. The charity has helped so many people over the years. It has provided support, education, a great team working experience and comeradery to build the confidence, and skills of the young people who volunteer at the facility, and who eventually take these qualities into the wider workplace or remain as an invaluable member of the team.

Community Recycle Cycles has enriched the lives of those who attend sessions, it is wonderful to watch the young people benefit from the experience of staff, who share their knowledge in a kind, nurturing way.

“For hundreds of people locally, Community Recycle Cycles is a bike shop which is affordable and gives expert advice and service. It has meant the discovery of a new pastime or the reawakening of old hobbies and a love of active travel.

Local schools and organisations have benefited by having visits and demonstrations from the team and these have been most popular.

Community Recycle Cycles certainly fill a need in Crewe, a town famed for its bike usage. Hazel Faddes Councillor, Cheshire East Council
